Are you a healer?
The heart and the power of healing lies in the relational matrix. Research consistently shows the quality of the therapeutic relationship is one of the most potent predictors of your client's outcomes.
The therapeutic relationship is more than a formality. It is the heart of psychotherapy, what distinguishes it from other healing traditions. The relationship is an evolving process that requires strategy, competence and creativity to skillfully manage over time. The therapeutic relationship is intentional, as all relationships should be. It is a skill.
Relational dynamics unfold in stages, progressing over time: the early alliance, leading to a working alliance, and finally to the therapeutic alliance. Stress, strain, or even ruptures threaten the strength of the relationship. You need skills to navigate through turbulence successfully. Or to help move your client past an impasse or defense, without rupturing your alliance.
Mastering relational dynamics allows you to enter the room with confidence, ease, and optimism. First, recognize how your own interpersonal dynamics influence your performance. Your relationship with yourself is the foundation of all your relationships, including the relationship you have with your clients. After all, you can’t take someone else beyond where you’ve gone yourself.
Level Two: Identify the relational matrices commonly encountered in working with survivors of Complex Trauma. Core principles of working through relational schemas, and internal working models of attachment, to create a holding environment that facilitates healing.
Relating is a process, and so remains in flux from the first to the last encounter. Anchor within your own experience to guide you. Reduce your dependence on external things, such as specific techniques or objects. Therapy is as much art as it is science. Knowing how and when to respond determines whether your client receives what’s intended. Whether you like it or not, you are the anchor in every session. Convey confidence, clarity and competence to your clients, which increases their trust, hope and investment in the work you do together.

Full day workshop (7 CEs): The Healer: the Art and Science of the Therapeutic Relationship
Discover an evidence base you didn't know existed. A simple-yet vitally important framework- restores your work to the level of healer and away from the mechanistic models that have been trending for some time.
Clients are hungry for therapeutic intimacy. They are injured in relationship and ao they must heal in relationship. The relationship needs to be front and center. A focus on "what to do" moves you away from “how to be”, the latter being the focus of psychotherapy. Learn to create a therapeutic frame where you are the anchor, responding to your clients in a way that clients benefit form the most.
7 CEs are awarded for complete attendance for each level (pre approved by the Social Work Examiners). CEs renewed each date from the Board of Counselors and MFTs., as well as CASACs.
More trainingS coming in 2022.

Consultation
I provide consultation for therapists working with complex post traumatic stress. I enjoy helping clinicians clarify transference and countertransference phenomena. When attachment trauma has occurred, there are relational dynamics that can be expected to arise in the course of therapy. Attending to these dynamics competently is as crucial as any technique could be. However, therapists beginning their career in this era, with the proliferation of many therapies and models are taught to privilege technique over the relational dynamics, which can debilitate the therapeutic experience for both clients and therapists. Therapy is at its heart a relational practice.
Another area I provide consultation for is for clinicians who are not comfortable with modifying the EMDR Standard Protocol to treat a wider set of sequelae, while preserving fidelity to the EMDR 8 Phase Process. I can help you clarify assessments, treatment planning, as well as interventions that require modification from the Standard Protocol. Contact me for more information.
